Canopy for Adults

A porn blocker that actually works

A porn-free Internet experience

Canopy’s initial product was created to help families protect kids from explicit content, and the same technology can be used as a porn blocker for adults, too. We block explicit images and videos in real-time with unparalleled accuracy.

We will have an app with a user experience for adults, but until that is launched, please follow the steps on this webpage for a porn-free Internet experience, no matter what your age.

Set yourself up for success

Whether you want to protect yourself from unintentionally stumbling upon explicit content or are working hard to conquer an addiction, Canopy can ensure that you’ll never see what you don’t want to see on the devices it protects.

Whether you want a porn-free experience on your own devices, are looking to have someone hold you accountable to not seeing pornography, or want a small group to hold each other accountable, you can use Canopy.

If you are partnering with someone else, the person who will be designated as “parent” holds the password and manages the account settings. For mutual or group accountability, simply create two accounts.

Typically, the person requesting accountability would be the one to set up and pay for something like this. Until we have an adult app released, payment is made when it is set up through the “parent” profile.

You can simply set up a profile on our website for your friend to be the “parent” with their email, and they can change the password later.

Once the “parent” account has been created, an email or text is sent from within that account to the “child” device to install the appropriate version of the app. The “child” app is for the person who wants the porn-free Internet experience, and the “parent” app is for the person who will create settings for the account holds the password.

It’s helpful for both people to be together in-person, on a video call, or on the phone to ensure that all the settings are how you prefer them to be.

Add a porn blocker to your devices in 2 easy steps

Have the person helping ensure pornographic content never ends up on your device click here to create a Canopy account. If you want to set up and pay for the account for them, that works, too. Simply use their email (with their permission) to set it up, enter your credit card information, and then encourage them to change the password later. They can choose to download the app to their device or manage the account through the web browser.

Through the Parent app, have an email or text sent to each device that you want Canopy to protect. Download the Child app from that unique link directly to the device being protected. Once that app is installed, the device is protected. Settings can be managed from the Parent app.

PLEASE NOTE: Canopy’s first version was designed for families. The terminology in the app (and supporting materials) refers to “parent” and “child” roles. When Canopy is active, the “child” is protected from online pornography. The “parent” device is not protected; it allows the “parent” to control the settings of the “child.”

The number of devices refers to the number of devices protected, not including the Parent app that manages the account settings and holds the password.

3 ways adults can use Canopy as a porn blocker

  • Create a Canopy account here.
  • Set up one profile for each device you want protected.
  • Follow the instructions to install the Child app on each device you want protected. You can have both the Parent app and the Child app on the same device.
  • Choose someone you trust to manage the settings for the Canopy app on your devices.
  • Create a Canopy account here with their email and other information (with their permission). They can change the password later. Enter your own credit card information.
  • Create one profile for each device you want to protect with Canopy’s porn blocker.
  • Follow the instructions to download the Child app on each device you want protected.
  • Ask the person managing your settings to change the password on the Parent account. They can download the app or manage it from a web browser.
  • NOTE: If you and a friend are looking for mutual accountability, simply create two accounts. You can have both the Parent and Child apps on the same device connected to different accounts.
  • Setting up Canopy for a small group is best done with everyone gathering in person or on a video call to avoid any confusion.
  • The number of devices to be protected will determine how many Canopy accounts are needed for your group. Each account can manage up to 10 devices, so you may need to create subgroups.
  • Select one person to act as the “parent” for each subgroup. This individual should not be a part of the subgroup they are managing.
  • The “parents” then create Canopy accounts and set up profiles for each device being protected. At this point, settings are selected and invitations are sent via email or text to install the Child app (the porn blocker) on each device.
  • Payment: The person who creates the account will have their credit card information attached to it. It is helpful to establish, in advance, how your group will pay for this.
